Back in the mid-'70's I bought a 3/4 size Fender Precision Bass for $50 in a pawn shop. It had a solid maple neck, slightly smaller tuning pegs, single pick-up, and a heavy body coated with a thick layer of some black plastic/paint-like material. I'm mostly a guitar player, so I loved the shorter, slightly thinner neck that wasn't as rounded as a regular P-Bass. It had a very punchy, slightly twangy tone that belied its size. It was stolen from my house about 12 years ago (along with my '72 Strat, my BF Twin, my TV and my stereo),and I haven't seen one since. Does anyone out there know anything about these instruments? Do they ever come up for sale? Where?

The only "three-quarter size" precision-style basses with the Fender logo that i can remember in the mid 1970's were the Mk II Mustang Bass and the Musicmaster Bass. At that time companies like Shaftesbury produced useful Fender copies.
