Hello
I just got my dream come true. I got my fender P-bass 50's in black with the golden pickguard :)
Im a beginner so im a bit confused with one thing.
Before i had really crappy bass that i got for free from a friend. It was really bad (loosing tuning within 10 minutes, etc) but i didnt get feedback problem.
Now when i play, i got a lot of feedback noise form the combo (Squire champ 15b)
it is pretty annoying. Do you know what could be the problem?a cable? a fender? bad mixture of bass and the combo? where should i look for the problem?
remember that im a total beginner so everything is new to me :)

And yeah, i just noticed that i have pretty high hum when its just standing alone, with controllers set up in the middle.

im not 100% posative about this, but i highly doubt that it is the bass or cable, if it was either, it would either cut out, or make no noise at all, probably just the amp, try out a different amp, dont even buy a new amp yet, any amp should work, guitar even, if there is no feedback, then invest in a new amp, if there is feedback, try a different cable with a different amp to make sure that the amp is in working function, if your cable is the problem, get a new one for like $10 bucks. and if you cant find what the problem is still, then take your bass into your local guitar store and have them take a look at it.

Welcome to the forum. Take your amp, cables, and bass to a music store. Try other amps and see if you can duplicate the issue with other amps using your new P-Bass. Then see if you can duplicate it using other instruments into your Squier amp.

I suspect you must outgrew that Squier amp.

Hello, and thanx for the suggestions.
i changed the cable (easiest and cheapest first step)
it helped a bit, but my combo is farting on different tunes on normal sound levels...hard to practice. the sound is totally ok on the headphones, so i guess its the combo.
