I was just thinking that, Ox! It would be obscene to list the Fenders alone that slipped through my fingers since I bought my first one in '68 :shock:

I get sick thinking about it. I got my first Jazz in '68, it was a left over "67, at Lomakin's Music in Pittsburgh for $215.00. Dumb kid, probably could have negotiated the price down.

A '67 Jazz for $215! That was a great price even for back then.

My very first Fender was one of the ones with skinny strings - a '54 Strat, fairly beat-up, for £90 at Bell's in Acton (West London) - £50 for a refret and general sorting out at Ivor Mairants, and... oh, I don't want to think about it :cry:
