I really love the navy blue metallic color that the Deluxe P Bass Special 4 String comes in, but I prefer maple necks.

Sadly, Fender offers maple necks for every color option except the navy blue.

Thoughts? Comments? Is anyone else saddened by this?

I kinda wish the entire Fender catalog had more choices vis-a-vis color choices along with pickguard choices and fretboard woods. I do realize it's a matter of cost-cutting, but it would be nice.

In your place I'll throw a maple neck from another Deluxe Active P into a Navy Blue body. Simple as a kid's toy.

That realy blows ,I prefer the maple neck too. You could buy a maple and swap them out. Just a thought.

You would be on a borderline custom bass for that maple freeboard through Fender and more choices.
