Hello Folks,

I am currently looking to restore a '75 p-bass to as orginal as possible and would like to start with the pickups. It is outfitted with D'addario's and I would like to be able to locate a set of Fender pickups from an old '75 (or thereabouts). Would anyone know where I may be able to find such an item? Thanks in advance.

Lindy Fralin knows the average readings and windings for every bass pickup by year. I'd go there first and have him do a recreation for you. When buying used you will never know for sure. Really. You just don't know for sure.

Good advice...that was my next course of action. I don't mind the DiMarzio pickups at all (oops...I misquoted them as D'addario's in my last post). These were probably installed quite some time ago. I don't think the wiring was done right. I have only a volume control and no tone. I have had the instrument apart to see if there were broken connections etc with no results. If I could get these working properly, I would probably just keep them in there.
