I've got a 1970's P bass with a new replacement nut, however I cannot get it intonated correctly. Intonation was perfect with the old nut. I've checked the truss rod and saddle heights and everything is great, but I suspect the string height @ the nut is off. Unfortunately, I threw the old one out so I can't check the height it was at. Does anyone know what the standard height should be from the from the bottom of the string to the top of the first fret? (Not top of fretboard but the fret). Thanks!

I'm not sure but have been told that the height should be where a dollar bill will barely slip in. That is the way mine is set up and it is perfect.
