I'm placing this inquiry in the P-Bass area for comparison purposes...

Over the years I have purchased three Fender Basses - A Power Jazz Bass Special, A Mike Dirnt Artist Series P-Bass and a Standard P-Bass... and all are in top shape.

I have an opportunity to purchase two additional basses from a family friend and would like your opinion, because I have not used these types at all in the past. I tested them on a Fender 250-210 amp and both had slight, but noticable differences, but both have good ergonomics and feel. Both are in very good to excellent condition with no belt marks, no worn finishes or condition issues.

The first is a Mosrite 1965 year of issue 'Venture Bass' with an asking price of $1475.00

The second is a 2009 year of issue MTD Kingston KZ Bass for $1175.00

I have owned Fenders since 1963, but I'm open to suggestions on these two. Are they players or collectors or both ?

Thanks...

Update: Brother Dave was KIND enough to send me an email regarding the collectability of these two items on April 10. Thanks, DAVE.

This is a question of more opinion than legit,You can have a bass in great shape for its age but sound like a sick dog,or the exact oppisite for that matter.
I think it should ultimetely been on you,we cant play the bass, see how it balances,if its a design that doesnt balance well, your amp used and many other variables.
And since your on a Fender website what answer do you think you will get from this group of Fender fans? ITS ON YOU
