Hey Guys, My new P bass arrived this week. its a MIM 'Special Edition'

Unfortunately the previous owner seemed pretty clueless about how to take care of it. the truss rod was turned the wrong way. He fixed it by lowering the saddles on the bridge to the bottom. And losing the screws.

I fixed that with a new bridge. But i was wondering if anyone can give me more information on whats so special about this run since he can't.

heres my serial. Thanks in advance. Sorry to post if this is impossible to ttrace or something.

Probably a clear finish on an ash body,I dont believe its anything to groundbreaking since its not a more expensive model, matter of fact at Guitarcenter they are usually the ones on sale because the newer Mex line has the awe inspiring 70's style decal,I've seen new basses at that store new in the box coming off the truck already being 6 or 7 years old sold as "new".Yes they are but a bit outdated design in some ways.
A pic would seal the deal.

I would have researched something like this before going into full force purchase of a bass all I can tell you that that serial number dates back to 2002-2003 and it could maybe be a refinished FSR model, but most people don't refinish when they use that FSR wood which would differ from the other Mexican Standards and diminishes the value, but that's all I can tell you.

A pic would be really nice to see the pickup configuration, color, control plate if you could that would definitely narrow the possibilities.

I'm beginning to think its just a special finish. I don't have a working camera at the moment so no pictures yet!

I bought it because if there were any HUGE problems I had a 100% refund in writing,

Its got whats best described as a metallic blue finish. its MIM, Rosewood, White PG.

Ive got a Custom bridge shipping in shortly. Ill make a new thread with pics ASAP. thanks.
