I feel alittle ashamed as a Fender fan, but a little while ago, I noticed that though I read about the P-bass alot, I don't know how it's pronounced. I've heard "Precussion" (as in drums) and "Precission" (like being exact). I would appreciate a smart fellow setting me strait on this.

Erm...it's a precision bass, so it's pronounced like precision. Like a precision laser cutter...or something. Who the hell would pronounce it 'percussion'?!?!

The name Precision came from the time when it was built was that there was only upright basses that are fretless. The uprights were big and cumbersome. Leo Fender came out with the P-bass with frets and pickups. With the frets came Presicion and the rest is history.

Wow, that's really cool. Thanks for the info. I feel smarter now.
