Looking at the specs on different Jazz Basses (new) I noticed some specify a graphite reinforced kneck others do not. My questions : does the Geddy Lee Jazz bass have a graphite reinforced kneck? What are any pros and cons / differences ? Does a spec that does not specify a graphite reinforced kneck mean it has a one piece kneck?

I fell in love the G/Lee model back when they first hit the music stores,I had purchased a 60's classic jazz bass and long story short I tried to a replacement neck for it and was told by a Fender rep that this bass has a problematic neck and the back-order was 4-5 months(the Mex made 60's design).
I bought G/Lee jazz with my return money and when I attempted to give the bass a set-up)I do bass repairs and set-ups and specialize on Fenders because thats what I play, prefer and enjoy doing it,but when the neck had a 5 fret hump at the end closest to the body, also it back-bowed on the bass side ,and it did the opposite on the treble side.
So I exhausted all my tricks and I handed it over to my Luthier,It was deemed Non repairable,So we contacted Fender and they agreed with our theory that the real G/Lee had a shaved down neck, and my bass having a new/green cut of wood that it was a common problem with this basses neck,Now an older bass will probably handle a neck this thin being thinned out,but a brandy new neck will probably not handle the tension like a older Jazz could.
And I forgot to add the best part, when I returned the bass to GuitarCenter with a written letter from my Luthier AND a number to call to speak to G.C.s Fender represenative proving by a shadow of a doubt the neck is irreplacable and to return it and Fender will give them a credit for 75% of the bass, they (G.C.)went into the back room and returned with a new label and put the bass right back on the wall with a 50.00$ off sticker on it,and they made me a job offer seeing I tried a few times to get a part time job while I was laid off from my construction job for the winter months(yes I accepted the job,but was let go because I was "TO HONEST" with the customers about the quality of the stores guitar stock and "a honest salesman" is'nt a good one, just in time for the spring back to work season. AND YES THEY STILL DO CRAPPY THINGS LIKE THIS TO THIS DAY,I work on the last managers guitars because there tech is'nt worth warped neck.
I hope I did'nt offend anyone,it was'nt my intention,I always warn fellow players about the problems with not having enough knowledge pertaining to knowing what to look for in a guitar.
No offense G.Cers both buyers from and workers
