Hi treekiller; bad news on my Maple, maybe yours too. My 3-color Sunburst/ Maple is on backorder. I'm looking at about the first week of May. Got that direct from Fender.

I hope yours comes in sooner than that. Sometimes Fender fills back orders sooner than anticipated. Oh well, at least i've got the rosewood to use in the meantime.

I have short fingers too, but I have issues with tedonitis. I found that when I stopped playing the Jazz and just played the P-Bass they have almost gone away. That's why my '08 Am.Std. Jazz is for sale and I ordered a new Precision.
I might consider "bastardizing" a MIM Jazz if I found a good P neck to put on it, Otherwise there isn't anything I need that I can't do with a Precision!!!

well it depends to the one using it.. whichever your hand feels good then go with it.. there isn't really a rule where just because you're hands are small you'd go with a J.. sometimes a P is worth looking after..

I noticed my fingers are more straight and stretched out, not as curled up as when I played on the J. May be why your tendons are doing better with the P over the J Bass. Also my hand doesn't seem to feel as tired playing the P Bass.

Hi treekiller; I may be getting the 3-color Sunburst/Maple Monday. I called up my sales guy, and he's pulling one out from an online warehouse.

OUTSTANDING! Love to be there when you get that pup. I was at my local Sam Ash when they opened up a new Gibson SG Bass that had just arrived. The guitar part of the store went quiet. It was like being in church. When they opened the case, there was an electricity in the air. Wows and oh yeahs were all over from around the circle viewing it. Let us know how it goes. Very cool man!

Well folks, I got my new P home this afternoon and it's every bit as good as I expected! Between the gold annodized guard(with "tug bar") on the oly white body & the maple neck, it actually looks like a 1958 Precision from a few feet back. The neck is awsome, the action fairly low, and it plays like butter! I had them put D'Addario half-rounds on it when they did the final set up, they need played in a bit and then I'm good to go. Tone for days, I can't wait to get it down to the "clubhouse" to hear it thru my G-K 550 Fusion! Now if you'll excuse me, I got some strings to break in.......

ALLRIGHT! Glad you got it while you're still young enough to play it. Now go break those strings in. Have Fun!

Is anyone else waiting for a Fender Bass that's on backorder from Fender?
