Everybody has different tasts with the kind of fretboard they like. The old battle "rosewood or maple?!" Some people get really serious about which they like. :) What do you prefer?

I voted other. Although the poll was for fretboards, my preference for fingerboards varies too.

For fretted:
Any material is fine with me, I've tried the main 3 (maple, rosewood, ebony) and didn't notice a big difference in tone. Fretboard material isn't enough of a factor when trying a bass for it to be a "deal breaker" for me.

For fretless:
Nothing beats the look of a bare ebony 'board IMO.
Rosewood looks nice too, it just depends on if the bass feels right in my hands.

I voted for rosewood, since that is what is on my 3 basses. My next bass probably will have a maple fretboard, black body, black pickguard.

I prefer maple mainly because I don't like glued stuff.

There's still mahogany, but i voted rosewood, cause that's what my p bass has. Maple looks realy cool on j basses and on some p's. I've always wanted a maple but on some basses it looks to plain. I wanna get the Mike Dirnt bass, and it has rosewood, so yeah probably rosewood.

I've tried them all. I am somewhat partial to maple. Like the feel and sound.

well, i like the look of rosewood and ebony. and i dont really fancy the look of maple. i feel it doesnt blend well with darker coloured bass bodies, in my opinion. but i really cant judge as i have only tried rosewood. i would love to try other fingerboards too.
