 Oh my god. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated, like release date, price, etc.

Also, since the bass is mexican made, does anybody know if the '85 bass Duff actually plays is as well? Thanks.

Duff's "original" bass, the one this is modeled after, is an 80's MIJ Jazz Bass Special. Why this thing is being called a P bass I've no clue. Why Fender Japan isn't handling it, since it's based off of one of thier own designs, is another mystery.

However, MIM basses are excellent, and as a former proud owner of 3 I can vouch for the superb quality of the Ensenada factory. If you're interested in the P/J combo basses there are many other's to check out. The Frank Bello Sig. is pretty sick, as well as the Japanese Aerodyne series basses which are really incredible instruments, with a cool vibe.

I have a Power Jazz Bass Special, the body is a P body. The neck is not quite J bass or P bass for that matter. So who knows why bother calling it a J bass and market it as a P bass...go figure. :?

Price-wise I think it's about £600 over here.

If you don't care much for the look etc. of his sig, he is currently using Aerodyne jazz basses live as well as his 80's P-Bass specials.
