Hello my friends, I have removed and sold the original bushings and tuners from my vintage 1973 Fender P bass. With the money, I have bought replacement tuners from allparts. Because of your help, I was able to buy the replacement tuners with bushings. I receive the bushings today and they are just a little too big to fit in the holes. Normally, you should be able to just press fit them into place. How can I make the holes just slightly bigger so that the bushings will fit? I am very confused how to make them work. Your friend, Domingo

Also I forgot to say, that the tuners fit very well. The only problem are the bushings.

I think that you want them to fit tight, so I would suggest that you center them over each tuner hole and use a wood block on top of each bushing as you hammer it in place.

Do this carefully or take it to a professional repairman if you are not comfortable doing the work.

What kind of tuners are they?I got a set of hipshots and the bushings were the wrong size,so I called them and they said they have 2 sizes for the same bass. They sent me the new ones and they fit fine.Maybe you can try call them and see if they have some that fit better.
