Looking for a bass amp for my American P Bass.

Narrowed down to 3:

1) Gallien-Krueger MB212 2x12 500W Ultralight Bass Combo Amp
2) Ashdown MAG C410T-300 EVO II Bass Combo Amp
3) Hartke HM5410 Bass Guitar Combo Amplifier

Anyone have any favorites? Needed for loud, modern rock in small to medium bar gigs...

I'm waiting for my local store to get one of the GK 2x12's. Perfect for the small venues I play, lightweight and fits in my MiniCooper.

Let us know what you decide!

I'm not familiar with the GK combo you posted, but I will say that I have been using a GK 700 RB-II with a Neo 212-II and that rig sounds just absolutely fantastic. (the speakon cable in bi-amp mode really kicks it.)

Word to the wise: depending on where you live, the service centers for GK are intermittent. I live in Boston, but the nearest GK authorized service center is 1/2 hour north of Portland, Maine. They did authorize a great shop (AZTech Electronics, Watertown, MA) to do the work under warranty, however.

You may not have problems, but checking their website for service centers is worth the effort.

The Aguilar 'GS112' is a award winning, hi-fi 1x12" cabinet. A pair of these should cover most gigs.

If you like 10"s, check out the Epifani stuff, 'UL Series' or 'Performance Series.'

Either cabinet coupled with a cool, clean, light weight head will give the portability of combo with the flexibility and lighter weight of separate components.

I'm also now considering this rig:

Gallien-Krueger 700RB-II/410RBX-II

I'm having trouble picking something out because I don't want to spend a ton (since my band will only play out occasionally) but I also want to have something powerful enough to keep up with two other guitars in small and medium sized venues.

Don't really feel like buying something too small now and then having to buy something else a few months down the line.

I know I can go used, but I'm just not too confident buying amps that are no longer under warranty.
