Hello my friends, I forgot to ask you something. I also need to replace my screws and neck plate for my P bass, because they are very old and worn. I will keep the originals of course, but I will replace them. Can I go to a music store and buy any Fender neck plate with the 4 screws or do I need a special size neck plate and screws because it is a bass? Thank you for your time and I promise that I will do my best to help you if you have any questions in the future. Your friend, Domingo

You will need a plate made for the bass. and one to fit the specific make, model, and year

Ok thank you my friend. My bass guitar is a 1973. Can I get the neck plate with screws from Fender or this All Parts? I do not care about how it looks or if it is true to the original, only that it works and functions. This is years of never doing maintenance to my bass guitar. The only work I have ever had done is replacing pick guard screws and the setups every 3 months at the music store to make sure that it intonates properly. All I want is for the bass guitar to work properly. Thank you very much. Your friend, Domingo

You should be able to get it from AllParts, or you can try Bass Parts Resource, here : http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/middle_bass.htm
They have genuine Fender vintage style 70's neckplates, listed under "hardware" (includes screws)
I have dealt with them before and gotten good service.
