When I first started playing several months ago, I saw a Fender Bassman 200 on ebay for a great price so I went for it without doing too much research.

I think it's fine even though I havent been able to really crank it yet (apartment living can suck like that) and have only used amps at full levels out of my apartment.

Just curious what amp setups anyone can recommend in the under $700 range that would work for rock/pop punk type music.

Hello fellow bassplayer, For $700 you are gonna need something used,Try to find a 4-10 cabinet and some sort of head(300 watts or so). Lots of good stuff on craigslist, try peavey,ampeg,yamaha...etc. I play a fender American p- bass through a GK 4-10 neo cab powered by a markbass little mark 2 head, keeps up no problem with my band. Hope this helps.
