No. A LQ BAII will not fit completely under the second generation bridge cover. Part of the bridge is going to stick out. It may fit width wise however.

I'm probably going to make some enemies here because lots of people use and love their LQ BA bridges, but I actually get a better setup on most basses with Fender's traditional barrel design bridges. The tonal difference with a BA bridge seems to me to be a bit of added sustain. They are a very expensive upgrade that doesn't really make all that much tonal difference.

I have a BAIII on a 51 RI. I only bought it because I needed the thing to intonate properly and they have very long saddle travel. I tried a Fender USA Deluxe first, and it didn't have enough saddle travel. I didn't notice a tonal improvement in anything other than it has a tad more sustain.

Leo Quan does not answer my emails. I can't get parts from them or any kind of support. I've emailed them twice about an issue and finally sent an email to David Goldenfarb at The Bass Place in Tempe, AZ who helped me out.

Instead of a new bridge I suggest the two best upgrades for the buck! These upgrades are: 1. Copper tape shielding and star grounding. 2. Capacitor upgrade to a paper in oil or mylar cap. Even a higher grade poly cap is often an improvement. The parts for these two upgrades combined will run about $15 to $30 depending on what cap you use and make way more difference than a $100 bridge will, and if you have soldering skills you can do it yourself. If you don't have soldering skills, then pay someone to do it. It is very time consuming, so do it yourself if you can.

The LG BA bridges are well made, but unless you get the one with the pre-grooved saddles expect to pay a bunch more money for someone who knows what they are doing to do the installation and setup. Lots of people buy them, try to groove the saddles themselves and botch it. New saddles are $15 each.

AND whatever you do, keep up with your saddle height adjustment hex key because you can not find them ANYWHERE.
