I bought a new AM P Bass Dlx and it seems that the blend controll is only controling one pickup. It does not affect the sound at all and when turning it the sound goes off at one extreme. I thought it was a volume controll for a pickup like a passive Jazz Bass and then figured out that one pickup is doa. Only the bridge pickup is working. I verified the wiring of the stacked pot against Fenders wiring digram and it is OK. Is it likely to be the pot itself or the board?

It could be any one or any combination:
- The pot
- The board
- The pickup
- The batteries
- A discreet short somewhere in the circuitry such as an in-line break or a strand of wire touching something it shouldn't be.

Regardless, you stated you bought it new. Bring it into a Fender Authorized Service Center with your receipt as this is clearly a warranty issue.

When did you buy it? If just now I'd exchange it for another one.
