Nice fingerprints and smudges. Those two different knobs would bug me, but it's your bass.
How does the bass feel to you?

very comfortable for me, i can play aggressively and it can take it, ive been meaning to change the other knob, i bought it for 99$ because they said it would make sound noises when u increase the volume, well it had a strat volume knob that would make wiierd noises, but a 9$ knob change fixed that, a win sit. for me i guess

Nicely done on a $99 bass. Maybe a scratchy/bad pot? But if it works for you then fantastic. I keep looking for cheaper Jazz to pick up; pawnshops, craigslist, etc..

No finish checking. I only had it out for a few minutes to snap a few pictures. I'm more worried when I need to take a nitro-finished guitar to my job 40 minutes away from my house.

Not the same finish of course, but I can say with authority that the new (2008+) American Standard basses with the thinner finish no not easily check.

I left my American Standard P in the back of my pickup in -0F weather for.... ahem.... 3 days. I asked my kids to help bring in my gear after a gig and it was left in the pickup bed (locked of course). In any case, it was obviously cold, but when it warmed up, it was perfect.

08 American Standard Fender P bass in olympic white stock except well for the strings. The finish looks a lot more creme colored without the flash.
