OMFG if this is true (please please please) my plans are going to change - I was going to get one of the new MIM Precisions in Lake Placid Blue with Maple fingerboard, and change the Hardware for an SPB-3, BadassII and Mirror pickguard, to build one for myself, but I'll DEFINITELY scrap that and get a sig model instead!! I'm very excited.....

Anyone with any more news on this please POST POST POST!!

well DUH! but they made them a few years ago too: of which were better and much more of a signature bass.

here in UK its around £1.2k...so about $1.5-$2k i'd imagine & depending on were you find it

The neck on an MIM Standard, while nice, will play VERY differently from a Harris sig. The Harris sig seems to have alot going for it. Though the price is a tad steep, all the basses are going up anyhow. By the time you dump 210 bucks into the Standard to get it as close as you can the difference won't be as much as you'd think.

As with most Sig. basses they are mainly made for the fans of the artist, and to fill a niche that other Fender basses don't. This bass does both.

I didn't even notice that the Harris sig had been dropped, and now I just noticed this week that Fender was re-introducing it. Is the bass MIM, MIJ, or MIA?

I think I like the new model better than the older model, mostly because of the pickguard. I think though that the build quality will probably be better, considering the quality of the 2008 Fender basses.
