I like Acoustic bass amps... good tone and great value. The 200w 1- 15 combo (B200) will be all you ever need and still be portable.

Jav, as good an amp as it might be I don't think the Acoustic 200 at 75 pounds is portable enough for his requirement to be able to move it around campus without a vehicle. He wants something small and light that he can carry around campus that was 50 to 100 watts. They are excellent value for the money but not a lot of fun to move.

that's true bother dave... for me anything that doesnt break your back is considered "portable" B100 then.

Thanks for all the info guys! I've decided on the backline 110. Its enough for what I need since I probably wont be playing with any drummers any time soon at school. I have broken out the Digitech pedal for headphone practice, I almost sold it after I didnt use it for almost a year but now I'm glad I didnt.

6 pounds heavier than the Line 6 Studio 110, but $100 cheaper. Enjoy!

Im looking for a good 50-100 watt bass amp in the $100-200 for my college dorm. I have an Nemesis N28S but the tone is terrible so I'm looking to trade up for something better. Right now I have a Rumble 15 which sounds good and fills the room up, but I want something a little bit louder and with better tone. I'm looking on both the used and new market. For used Peavey amps seem to be the best bang for the buck and new I like the gallien krueger backline 110. Give me some ideas of your favorite practice amp!
My Line 6 Studio 110 absolutely kicks $@!. DI out, 75 watts, built to emulate a Ampeg 6 x 10 cab, and only $250 brand new, you could probably pick one up used for under $200 - I wouldn't part with mine for full retail though....
