I recently bought a new 51's precision reissue (crafted in Japan) with
a very strange "S" curvature on neck. It is also obviously visible that the tremble side has different curvature than the bass side of the neck causing ruttles in indifferent frets.
The salesman made a simple setup (neck relief etc) before I got it home and said that the neck it may need some days to settle right.Any suggestion?

Bill

Since this is new, make sure you explicitly follow all warranty policies on this purchase. Be sure to REGISTER the instrument for warranty coverage, KEEP YOUR SALES RECEIPT and make NO MODIFICATIONS yourself to the instrument. This sounds like it might have a twist in the neck. If it isn't 100% in a week then take it back to the dealer. Seven days is enough for it to "settle in."

I'm glad that everything worked out. But, wow..... I've never heard of a modern Fender neck twisting like that. I had a '73 Rickenbacker with a neck that would constantly twist. But I guess when your dealing with wood anything can happen. I wonder what the story is with that neck.
