My 05 American P-Bass has a crooked saddle on my A string - I tried adjusting it with the Allen Wrench but the one side seems to not want to budge at all (I think the screw is bent or something inside) and the screws on the bottom are uneven. I actually took the A string off and unscrewed the entire saddle to look at it. Now - my question is - I see there are various saddles to be bought - mine appears to be a vintage bridge with nickle saddles on it - where is the best place to purchase a few??? Should I go get this replaced by a professional or should I just do it myself since I got the old one back on and it's still working for now. Thanks. :)

I'd take it back to the dealer. This may be under warranty if you purchased the instrument new.

You should at least check to see if it is covered.

Or if you want to fix it yourself, you can look at some replacements here:

I'm not saying they have the saddles you need, but they might.

The bass I am talking about is not new - I didn't get it from a music store. Thanks for the website though - I'll check it out.

You might want to look at the new Fender USA high mass bridge too. They are about 80 to 90 dollars though but lots of people seem to think they are an improvement over the vintage. For me so long as a bridge intonates and I can set the strings as low or high as I need, I'm good.
