Hi all,

i'm new to the forum so excuse me if this question has been presented million of times.

I can't understand why there is no American Std with Maple Neck (lefty version) on the catalogue (at least i can't see it).

As i read on the web, the only chance to have a lefty with maple neck is

1) Fender Japan
2) Assembly of various part (American Std body with Japan neck)
3) W@r^^°th (i don't know if this is a prohibited word here)
4) ...

?!?!

Thank you

Hi CJ,
Welcome to the forum. Visit an authorized Fender dealer, plop down the cash and they can order your southpaw axe for you. Should be in your hands in a couple to 3 weeks. They are a special order but you can get them for sure. No problemo CJ!

Can i order all right-handed available models (in lefty version of course) ?

For example can i order a RE62 P-Bass lefty ? or a 57 P-Bass lefty ?

Thank you

CJ, most dealers don't stock many left handed basses however left handed American Standards are available as REGULAR PRODUCTION and listed on the dealer price list in the following configurations:
Item 019-0490-700 In 3-Tone Sunburst, Rosewood Neck 4-ply brown shell guard.
Item 019-0490 In Black, Rosewood Neck, 3-ply w/b/w pickguard.

Currently there is a $50 up charge over the right handed instruments. So just add $50 to whatever the price is where you live.

Unfortunately they don't list a maple board on the price list. If you are dead set on a maple board and can't compromise that then you may have to go the custom shop route. HOWEVER you won't know for sure until you check with an authorized dealer.

CJ, you might want to see what other models are available left handed as a standard production model. They will be clearly marked LEFT HANDED first in the product description. I'll tell you that they are few and far between. Looks to me like they are all set up with rosewood.

You can do that by checking the current Fender Bass price list here:
http://www.fender.com/resources/pricelists/pdf/winter2009/FLinstore_2009-USDOM-fenderbass.pdf

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it.

Since you are in Italy, which I didn't know, I need to mention that Fender may have some models for export only that they don't sell in the USA while other models available in the USA may not be exported.
