I've been a fan for over 20 years but never got to see them live until lastnight what a show. They played a lot of their new material from Death Magnetic but mixed in a lot of there old mainstays. I was lucky to have a floor ticket. The stage was in the round so you got to see all the members and since I was on the floor they were like 10 feet away. I even managed to get a pick from Robert Truginio ( I know I butchered the last name sorry) who also pulled out a pair of Fender Precision basses for 4 older Metallica songs. I'm glad they are back to recording heavier music because the last decade plus have left a lot of longtime fans (myself included) shacking our collective heads and wondering what the heck happened.

I think Robert Trujillo works a lot better in Metallica then Jason Newstead did. He is a much more dynamic player then Jason plays with his fingers like Cliff did. Plus he is activily contributing to the song writing process like Cliff. But yes I miss Cliff he is the one bassist that really made me want to play bass.
