Any comments from my fellow bass players? As a Jazz Bass enthusiast, I am intrigued by this bass ('70's vibe). Any opinions would be appreciated.

I got the fretless version this summer, and it is amazing. I'd have to think that the fretted version would be great as well.

I'm pretty sure it's got the 1 5/8" nut width so as a JBass guy it wouldn't be as much of a stretch going to that neck shape as opposed to the typical 1 1/5" of a 'typical' PBass

A few months ago, when I was shopping for a new bass, I saw this
TF P bass model, and immmediately wanted to get it. (especiially with the amber gold natural finish) Unfortunately as my situation dictates that I do my shopping online, I could not find this for sale anywhere, but one wensite, which was gone when I got my money together. The Fender had(and still has) it listed on their website, but I couldn't find it anywhere else.
It seemed like no-one was carrying it. Plenty of the fretless model, but no fretted. Why was that, do you suppose?
BTW, I ended up with an AM STD Jazz,so I'm not too unhappy.

I had a similar experience when I went looking for my TF fretless. At that particular time, no one had any in stock. Of course, this was for the online retailers, there was no hope of finding one in a local guitar shop. That said, I ended up ordering one anyway from an online retailer - they even gave me a bit of a break on the price. I did have to wait for a few weeks for Fender to make one, but it was well worth the wait and hassle. In fact, I'm curious to see how you'll end up liking the fretted version - if I were to get another fretted bass, I'd probably go the exact same model that you're thinking about. You can PM me, and I'd be happy to connect you to the sales guy who helped me get my bass. Another thought might be to try some of the specialty guitar shops that sell online as well. I got my Ric from a great specialty shop (they gave me a great price, which was surprising since Rics are not easy to find) - I know that they carry the nicer Fenders as well. If I were buying at the moment, I'd probably call both places and see who could help me the most with price and delivery.

Funny enough, there was plenty of fretless models, but no fretted. Still looks that way, last time I checked. I would still like to get one, but, as I got a Jazz bass, and no longer have the money, that ain't happenin', sadly. Well, not TOO sadly, I got the Jazz, after all.
