This is U2 playing on top of the BBc building in London and I can see that Adam Clayton is playing a Fender Precision. Not sure what year from though, but it's a kind of pink sparkle colour and there is a finger rest.

Anyone have any ideas what the actual colour is or what year it was made?? Thanks in advance...

Taking the strap button on the back of the headstock into account, that would be something like a 1960-1969 neck. Judging by the tuners I do not think it is a reissue. Don't know if the body is original to the neck or not though. I'm pretty sure that is not an original finish unless the lighting is just making Fiesta Red look more purplish. The bridge doesn't look vintage but with such poor lighting and the brief fleeting shots it is hard to get a really good look. Taking into account he could have any bass he wants, I'm guessing 1960-1963 pre-CBS. That is what I'd want if I could afford it. LOL

I think its a Candy Apple Red Precision bass that looks to be a weird color due to the lighting.
Early to Mid - sixties is a good guess as to the year but like Dave said who knows?

During Is a Beautiful Day, AC is playing a Sparkle finish Jazz bass that could be a silver sparkle or metal flake finish.
It must be a kick to play for crowds that size all of the time.

Adam Clayton always uses Custom Shop Master Build Basses, all the time with sparkle finish. Is not a candy apple red, he has like 6 different basses like this one in the video.... He just collect them ......
