I am new to these forums and would just like to first say Hello. I have a question I hope someone can answer.
Has Fender ever produced and sold a neck thru precision bass? I have seen one recently and was just wondering if it was actually a Fender bass. It has a brass bridge stamped "Fender" It appears to be Maple and Rosewood laminate neck thru with Ash wings on the body.
Thanks.

Thanks for the response. I bought this bass today just because it was such an oddity and the price was right. It has a massive brass bridge stamped with the Fender logo and marked USA pat. pend. I could take some pics of the bridge. Maybe it is from another Fender bass. It also has a brass nut. There are no numbers on the guitar and the body was originally kind of a fiesta red. It has now been stripped to raw wood.

Sorry about the delays. I'm new to posting pics on Photobucket. If this bass is a fake maybe someone can tell me what other Fender bass this bridge may be from if any.

Nice bass even if it is not a real Fender. I've never seen that bridge design that I can recall. You would think I'd remember a huge oddball bridge like that, but I don't know what model it would have come from. It would have to have been very limited if it is a real Fender bridge.

BrotherDave, I actually saw that bridge on here, on another bass, it was also a P Bass...can't find it on the search tho.

Thanks guys,
I'm going to have to do some more research because I'm convinced it is a real Fender bridge if not the bass.
In the meanwhile I will take some pics of my other P-basses and try to post them.
