Hello people,

The differences between the classic '50s and the road worn are important?
Or it's just the scratches?

Thanks

well, maybe 'important' isn't the right word but before I picked up my Road Worn I did do a direct A/B with a classic 50's and for me, the Road Worn felt and resonated better. Seemed to breathe a bit more.

For me, the Road Worn is definitely more than just 'scratches' on a classic 50s model, they do sound different... imho

Good -- another one comes over from the dark side.

Me, I just bought Precision #5 -- I started with a Squier II just to see if I liked it (I did), then traded it off and at the moment I have '51 Reissue, a Standard FSR with a fretless Warmoth neck, a Classic '50s P and the new guy, an American Vintage '57 Precision. They are the only basses I own, now, or play, after years of Jazz basses, Carvin, and G&L. I finally made it home.

The Classic '50s (like your road worn, but with polyurethane) was my main gigging bass. Excellent value, great player, and killer sound, especially with Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats (on all my basses). The AV '57 is a noticeable step up, but the Road Worn Ps I have seen are right up there. I almost got one instead of the '57, but I'm a little reluctant to buy a "pre-worn" bass when I got this one for a couple of hundred more.

But to each his own: as long as it's a Precision, it's good!

ya, definitely a tone revelation. I'm planning on getting it Pino-ized and putting some Thomastiks on it soon.

...and yes, there will be many more to come!!!
