Great bass what can I say. I own and play a Highway One Precision its my main bass.Compared to the American Standard there are a few differences. Sound wise couldnt tell a whole lot of difference. The Highway One has a little more sustain but I attribute that more to the bridge. The American Standard was much better balanced little if any neck drop. I really like the strings through body set up. The neck was more or less the same and obviously the finish is different. Overall a great bass. If I could afford one I probebly would have one but since I live in the real world I quite satisfied with my Highway One. The American Standard is a notch up on the Highway One series but only a small one IMO.

I played a highway one the other day. I like the flat finish on them, looks good and doesn't seem to get as dirty.

So true so true. What color is your bass? My Highway One is a 3 tone sunburst which happens to be my all time favorite finish.

Those American Standards seem really light to me. I like that.
I use a 2006 American Series. It sounds pretty much the same but it is heavier. An American Standard is tempting.

They are very nicely made basses you can't go wrong with that choice.
