I "picked" up a few egg-shaped felt picks years ago, intending to use them for playing guitar. I tried them with my basses and like the sound. I can get the speed of using a pick without that sharp attack sound. Something to consider.

Will Pumpkin suggested the BIG STUBBY by Jim Dunlop. I got one. Cool dark purple color. I like it. I like it. So I'll get more of them.

I just looked them up. The dark purple is 3.0 mm! I never considered anything that thick. I'm going by GC today and see if they have any to try.

yeah the big stubbies have a nice sound. there are a couple different sizes and thickness's to. I have like 3.00 and 2.50 and a little tiny one thats like 2.00 I think.

My preference is actually Jim Dunlop M-L's I don't like using a heavy pick just don't feel right to me. But im always more a fingerstyle person more fun in my opinion.

i use dunlop tortex. thickness is down to what you prefer. i use 0.96mm.
