Do you have a P bass jr?

I'm a gal bassists with tiny hands. I've read about the p bass jr - but can't find one anywhere. I'll keep hunting, but I what I want to know is how does it play? How does it feel? How does it sound? Anyone have an opinion of it in comparison to the mustang?

Production of this Mexican made model was discontinued 2 or 3 years ago. Maybe it was four years ago. Time flies and it is hard to remember. I do remember it came in two colors, black and Torino red. 28.59' inch scale with a proportionally downsized body and the red one I saw had a rosewood fingerboard. Standard Precision pickups with light tuners and had body through stringing. There was not a tone control, only a volume control. Just one knob. Sold for about $400. You might see one pop up on eBay if you check frequently or set up a search notification there with email notices sent to you when one is listed for auction. I just checked and there isn't one right now.

As I recall the neck on the one I saw looked pretty wide especially up the neck above the 12th fret, but that was years ago and memories get clouded. I didn't play it though. I've also read that the frets were a little rough on the edges, meaning sharp and needed filing down but that they really sounded surprisingly like a full sized P-bass.

I did find a copy of a photo of one though.

What happened to the P-bass jr? Fender needs to realize there's a market here and make them again. I'm a petite female bassits - standard 34" scale basses are hard to play and look hilarious on me. But there really isn't a solid short scale bass to be found. The mustang is ok, but still rather hefty. The p-bass jr not only had a pared down neck, but a smaller, lighter body. Go search for them and you'll find forums raving about it's performance and people asking "where do I find one?" - including me.

Untill Fender wakes up and makes them again, does anyone know anyone who is trying to sell one? I want it!

I came across this post when I was researching whether there is a demand for the p-bass junior. It just so happens that I have one that has been sitting in it's gig bag collecting dust. Perfect condition. Looking to sell. Email me at mikhail11781@yahoo.com and make me an offer.

I have come across a bunch of Fender 3/4 scale basses,Mexican more are readly available BUT there are a few Japanese made shorty basses,a bit odd looking but play great and sound close as possible to a full sizer.
The Japanes models I have played are head&shoulders above the Mexican made models and are evenly(both japan and mexico)matched in playability but I prefer the Japanese made stuff far better than the other ones made south of the border.
Daddy's Junky Music seem to have them on a regular bassis but inspect it well, they are notorious for poor quality in the used section, they buy and sell most anything.

The definitive short scale Fender Bass is the MUSTANG. Very cool. Still available me thinks.

The P-Bass Jr. is cool too. But really hard to find since out of production. The P-Bass JR. is great but hard to find for sure.

Hey newbie's welcome but read the rules.....You are NOT SUPPOSED to buy & sell on this site. It's OK to point someone in the right direction (EBAY) but you are not supposed to offer them for sale!!!!!
