I'm trying to get some specs on my particular bass (1990? P plus) and was wondering if the serial number could be used to get timbers etc.. I'm not sure if it's an ash model.

Serial will not tell you the wood.

All basses were ash at first then in mid 1956 Fender continued using ash on blonde basses only and alder on opaque finishes. Other woods have been used infrequently over the years on select models like some walnut bodied basses.

For a spec sheet I think you can call support and they'll mail one out. I've heard of that being done.
