why is the deluxe active precision bass priced so cheaply at an msrp of $970 in comparison to the american standard passive precision bass at an msrp of $1800? is it because the passive pickups are more dominant in some way?

i would imagine that active pickups would be more expensive?

please check the price list just to make sure im not goin crazy if u wish to reply to this

I believe they are still made at the Ensenada, Mexico (good fish tacos down there ) factory. Materials wise, I believe it's more comparable to the Fender Standard P Bass and not to be compared to an Am Standard.

warwickplayer8.... I wonder what that means??

Right - passive pickups with an active EQ section. The MIA Precision Deluxe is an incredibly versatile instrument. Wouldn't trade mine for anything I've ever played.
