Hi! I wrote from FRANCE

I just find a precision bass whith the number writen on the head
S 874328, and on the body under the microphone 0423, sunburst.
I think it may be an instrument built in 1977 or 1978 ?
Thank to help me.

I need onfo about the microphone, cause the one i have, original ???, seems to be Out of order ; that is to say that the magnet under the slot of one of the mike went of .

it seems either that the body have been modified, it have the two hole for the two mike and two bar hole near the bridge

Hello here in france it's half past midnight !

The P bass i found has to be re-varnished. the back is bare; what is the best for quality of play, to let the wood breath and have the best vibration ?
Do i have to varnish it like that, or rip off the old layer before apply a new one ?

I wonder to let the edge in black whith the protection plate olso black, and the rest of the body in transluscent varnish ; what do you think...?

Another thing is that the neck is frettless modified.
And I need all other parts ( bridge, mechanics, strings, mikes)

I'm waiting for all advice !

Last but not least, how many myke and in what position, do this instrument originally have ? (because it's seems it have been modified)

MANY THANKS

Need SERIAL NUMBER and PHOTOS please.

For parts try my website's RESOURCES page in my forum signature below. Once there click on REPLACEMENT/UPGRADE BASS PARTS and a list of parts links will open. You can get about anything for a bass off here. For REFINISHING information click on REFINISH, RESTORE & MAJOR REPAIR. Nitrocellulose lacquer is the best but hard to come by. However you can buy it in spray cans from RERANCH on my refinish page. USE EXTREME CAUTION when using nitrocellulose lacquer. To say NITRO is flammable is an understatement. Also you might can find an automotive shop that will do the nitro painting for you. While that is becoming more of a long-shot it is still possible.
