I bought a new Road Worn a few weeks back and I'm very happy with, these RWs certainly represent a new high in MIM quality. The Road Worn was bought with the intention and for the purpose of having a P bass but with another P p/up (no way was I going to cut into the '63 P Bass I also own). Here is the result with a Seymour Duncan Vintage added, I also fitted a Hipshot D Tuner for the full on custom bass vibe. My favourite sound is neck p/up full on, bridge at about 95% (about 30 degrees off full turn) which just adds that little bit of definition. Full on it's a Jazzish bass sound, but with more balls, just what I wanted. I'll still mainly use it with just the neck p/up, but when I need that extra zing I've got it there. Why oh why don't Fender do this p/up configuration as a production model as IMO the P/J just doesn't cut it in the same way?

Image Hmm that D tuner is a bit shiny by comparison.

Nice work! Gorgeous! The placement of your bridge pickup is a tad off from the old Elite position, but probably sounds just as good if not better!

I agree about MIM quality. It just gets better and better.

You need one of these t-shirts. I'll get around to buying myself, sometime. Really, if ya know what you're doing, and are certain of the end result...why not, eh?

Does the extra pickup interfere with your playing? That's right where I pluck the strings.

Not for me as I tend to play just behind the normal p/up. I was certainly aware of it at first ,but after one evening's rehearsal I'm OK with it

instead of what you did you could've done a 62 jazz bass stacked knobs thing (which you can do on a pbass) and not had to drill an extra hole but each to their own
