Post subject: 250 or 500k?

i was wondering what tone and volume pots come on the american standard precision bass. 250 or 500k? also is it any different from the american vintage reissues?

250K CTS like all the passive USA basses. If it is a passive P, it should have 250 K no matter what series. One big difference is the pickup, it is the American Standard pickup. The vintage basses would have vintage pickups.

i jus finished taking off the pg and i was studying the pots and they said 500k? so i guess maybe the newer ones had 500k? well it doesnt matter because im putting 250k pots in. but thanks for the info brotherdave

Just went back and pulled up the schematics. Shows 250K. Checked the partslist and it shows 250K. Odd.

Go to my RESOURCES page in my forum signature below, click on DO-IT-YOURSELF SETUP & MAINTENANCE. All the schematics sources are listed there. The schematics changed every so often. The first place to check is the official Fender links and if you can't find it there then try the other sources. Cheers back! :D
