I play a Marshall Jubliee 3530 Bass amp made in 1987. My cabs are Flite 15 and a Flite 1X10
1X5 mid driver and Tweeter horn. Each cab weighs 30llbs and sound incredible.

This is a lnog story,

Ashdown ABM300evoII

Ampeg B5r

Ashdown ABM 4x10,

2 Ashdown ABM 1x15

I was using the EVOII with the 2 fifteens for a long time with a Boss Tuner, limiter and chorus - always had a great sound, loved by sound engineers too.

Then I got GAS.

I wanted to get the full use of my Yamaha Attitude ltdII  (seperate outputs for each pickup).

SO - I got the B5r (2-channel, which you can combine to have an overlayed distortion on top of the clean sound), removed the EVOII from its wood sleeve and rack mounted it in a rack tray, I got a Rack Tuner (Korg dtr2000), and then a 2-channel Rack Compressor, all neatly mounted and wired through the rear effects loops.

So I had the split pickup of the Attitude going through the B5r, and the Neck position EB0 type pickup going through the Ashdown, with both amps effects loops then running through a channel of the compressor.

The sound was amazing. You could effectively get 3 sounds running at once, with the Neck pickup always clean and VERY FAT, then the P Pickup through the B5r running the Clean and Overdrive channel combined.

One problem only - The 6u rack case weighed a RIDICULOUS amount. I could just about carry it myself, I swear it felt like it weighed the same as my 4x10. So I had to give up and accept I couldn't get the Sheehan tone without hiring someone to help me with the gear!

So I then down sized it to just the B5r with the rack tuner and compressor, but added a rack exciter (aphex). This worked well but just didn't feel the same.

So guess what? I'm back to using the EVOII Ashdown, with the Boss pedals, and whichever combination of cabs suits the venue.

What can I say - you gotta go there to come back.........

That reminds me of how much fun I used to have.......There's nothing better though-- than lugging around an AMPEG SVT all tube and 2 --- 8-10 cabinets. It's just a wonderfull experiance doing it by yourself. No one bothers you- they leave you alone- it's kind of peacefull when you pull a back muscle. AHHH-- the good old days!

I run my MIM P-Bass through an Acoustic B100. Simple, deep tone. No bells or whistles, but lets me keep up with my bro-in-law's Frontman 212.

Yet I dream of an Fender TB-600 running through a 215 or 810 cab.

Here's what I have for my bass rig. I have a gallien krueger 800 rb that's biampable. And I use a hartke 4-10 with the tweeter and a hartke 2-15 subwoofer, both xl series. One the best bass combinations I've ever heard. A I use a G&L asat bass with itImage

Nice, too bad they don't make the 215XL anymore. I think they still make the 4.5XL don't they?

The GK is discontinued- at least that's what I hear. I've had mine since 99 and it's still going strong. I think it's a great sounding amp (RB 800). It was getting pretty hot at one point about 4 years ago. I took it in and they said they adjusted the bias. It ran super cool for a long time- hardly got hot. It's starting to warm up again. I'm taking it back in. I put a little fan on the back of my Ampeg cabinet to blow air on it and it doesn't get hot. Killer amp- good choice tc rocker.

I double checked the GK website, & they are reissueing the 800 rb. I've never had a problem with it. I got the head in 85 or 86? The cabs I bought in the 90's. Your right hartke doesn't make 2-15 subwoofer anymore. Now they sell the cabs with combo aluminum and paper cones.
I tried to sell this rig on craigslist didn't get many offers on it. Some people just wanted to trade small bass combos for it, sorry I'm not a music store?
So now 1/2 the rig is in church, our bass player is using it, cause I'm playing lead guitar.

I'd buy another RB 800 no problem.

I use a Fender Rumble 15 for home practicing and jamming, and a Fender Rumble 100 for most gigs.

Good amps, really come in handy in dire times, haha.
