I love 'em! But the lack of contours does put many off. Depends on where you wear it - ithe square edge ends up being a handy arm rest for me! And the Single Coil Precision Bass (hereinafter called SCPB) sound is great! All the punch you want, but a little edgier than a split-coil. The con is that the splitty is a humbucker, so the SCPBs can be noisy depending on the playing environment. No worry! If you are really keen on the slabs, get a true SCPB AND a Mike Dirnt sig, which is a slab with a splitty!
Cheers,
Den

I'm hearing great things about the Vintage Modified Squier P. It's great to see a maple fingerboard on it, which is usually my preference.

How does your Squier compare to the Fender in sound quality?

Wow, apologies, I never answered this!

The Squier I have is the humbucker, Mark II Telebass type. Very deep sound, and very high output. You need a good modern amp to get the best out of it. Plays well!
