Personally, I think that you would be better off with the Vintage Modified Precision bass but that's just my opinion. If the Pete Wentz bass is what you want then get it. And I think this should belong in the Squier bass forum 8)

Your best bet would be to get a Standard P and drop a set of real 1/4lbs. in it, you get the higher quality pups and a tone knob. (gasp!!) If a tone knob ain't your bag try a Hoppus Sig. No need for any mods on that, has the 1/4 lbs. already in it. Although, these options'll run a bit pricier.

I agree with indie-bass on the part about this belonging in the Squier Forum, though.

I like the Dirnt. Few more bucks but totally worth it. If you want the Wentz bass, then go for it, if nothing else will do!

You know as a bass player I think Wentz is pretty weak but I do agree that his signature p bass is pretty cool looking, if not for that god awful bat insigna on the body.

I am currently giving a kid at my school bass lessons, and he didnt have a lot of cash, so on top of free lessons, I also helped him find an instrument to learn on and of course guess what the cheapest type of bass out there is? Yes, Squier. Now I chose the P-bass because thats what I play, and I chose squier because of my brand loyalty to Fender, but this is also the cheapest built instrument Ive ever seen. The pickups are horribly installed, the pots are practically attached to the pickgaurd, and the fact is, its the same build as the you are looking at. The paint job is sweet yes, but I would seriosly think of just getting a Fender P-bass instead. Also, if you look closely, thats a squier bridge. They dont really do much good. If you like it so much though, yes you can get new pickups and a new bridge, but its still a squier. Its your call.
