Hello everyone, I'm looking at building a P-Bass. I have seen many different wiring diagrams but no two are the same.

My are my questions:

What is the difference in the 250k pots and 500k pots?
Why would I use one or the other?
Is one better for tone than volume?
What difference does the capacitor make? (I have seen .022 and .050-.100)

So I guess where I'm going with all of this is, I don't want to over look the little things, what should I know?

If you would like to give any suggestions on what you think I should use that would be great as well. I'm going to be using an Ash or Alder body, Maple Neck and Fretboard, Duncan 1/4 Pound, Badass II Bridge and DR Hi-Beams. This bass is going to be my utility bass, so very versatile.

Thanks for your help.
