Hey guys, i just picked up a second hand 2005 Am Deluxe P bass, however, its very quiet on both my amps.

I have a Highway one as well, and that needs to be at about 1/3rd the volume to give me the same amount of noise. I've replaced strings, adjusted the action, replaced batteries, yeah, any ideas of something or should i just take it into a shop to get them to have a look at the wiring and such.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

It could be something simple, but as you've raplaced the batteries, getting it looked over might not be a bad idea. Could be something as simple as a loose ground. On Passive P basses I do all of my own work, but as a former owner of a Big Block P Bass you won't get me near the guts of an active bass with a 10ft. soldering iron.

If you have a cool tech in your area, and if it is something REALLY simple, maybe he won't even charge you. If not, you'll be glad you took it to someone who knows what's up.

Yep, get it to someone that knows, it could be something really simple and cost $10 but you messed it up and it becomes $100 job. Good luck man.

One of the reasons you get that kind of problem is when a signal wire gets shorted to ground ! But if youre not comfortable troubleshooting active electronics better take it to a specialist !
