My upgraded 06 Highway One P bass is in the shop. I plugged it in the other day and I could not get it to play loud at all thru my Fender bassman250/210 combo which is LOUD. So I figured I had an amp problem. So I bring the amp into the shop and it's fine (played a bass from the store), so the guy tells me to bring in my bass which I do and only half or less of the vloume is coming from it. He looked it over and told me the pickups were dying which sounds weird. It's under warranty so no big deal, just have to wait for the new ones to come in. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so does fender know about it? What could cause this as well?

I'm no expert on this, but I'd imagine it's just some faulty electronics in the pickup. If it's under warranty you'll be hooked up with new ones in no time anyways.

I have an '06 Hwy One P-bass also. Have had no problems with it. Maybe it was a freak thing.

As "zod" said..
I also have a 06 p bass..
I haven't had any problems with it (exept the volume button has loosen, but it's fixed)
But, I work in a guitar costom shop, and most probobly its just the electronics you were unlucky to get.. The wires and the sylinders have a tendens to loosen up a little. so it's just to fasten them up.. ;)

Turns out I had a bad pickup, they replaced it under warranty. Sounds great now.
