Why can't I find these MIM instruments listed under Products?

Anyone know what the Retail Price of a MIM FSR P-Bass - not MSRP - but actual selling price retail?

Thanks Zod - did not realize the standard were the same as MIM - I was looking at a FSR MIM P-Bass - are there any links to that FSR Model Ash with Tort? Thanks again!

I believe the FSR Precision you are referring to might be the one that was a special run for Guitar Center in 2006 and early 2007. FSR means Fender Special Run. FSR's are made for big dealers like Sam Ash, Guitar Center and Musicians Friend. I just checked GC's site and they don't have it listed. They may be all gone or it could be they are only available at the store and not online. Might check your closest GC in person.

Also made for Musician's Friend - which is under the same corporate umbrella as GC. So, ck there as Zod had pointed out.

The Musician's Friend ash FSR version has a white pickguard and is still available, while the GC version had the tortoise PG which is what he is seeking.

Even though both dealers are now owned by the same corporation, at the time the Guitar Center FSR P-Bass was produced they were not yet owned by the same corporation. I don't think you'll find one like he's looking for at MF. They never had one. When GC had them out I got one. And they are probably all be gone at GC but I'd check to be sure. You could probably spot one eventually used. I'm sure some people bought them to hold for a few years and resell. They were gorgeous and collectible as a limited edition.

One thing that could be done would be to buy the MF version and swap out the pickguard with a '62 Reissue Tortoise Pickguard, Fender part number 099-2021-000. I think the pickguard might be the only significant difference between the two.

The Fender 099-2021-000 guard has holes for the thumbrest and the pickup cover predrilled while the GC FSR P-Bass guard did not. Otherwise they appear to be very similar material. The '62 reissue guard appears to have bigger yellow chunks in it. I'm a real sucker for big yellow chunks and swirls.
