This bass (insofar as looks) is what I want EXCEPT for the color. It's a Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass 1996 or 1997. The serial number is N6196950
So, would I be a horrible human and/or would it be morally wrong of me to repaint this to a teal metal flake? (to match the Fender factory color, teal)
(so that the bass pictured below looks like this bass (in the link): https://orangeampforum.com/images_forums/fpjbass/IMG_7629_fender_pj_delux_bass_body.jpg)
If I decided to paint this black bass to a teal color (doubtful), I'd have the paint job professionally done - I'd have Fender do it if that is an option.

The bass has no corporate historical significance nor personal attachment to you in its present color so why not? The teal color you've selected is a beautiful shade.

I was hoping someone would agree with me. LOL.

I doubt I'll paint it. It takes a bit of work to find the right person with the right shop to do something like this - then the paint needs to be matched. All of that is a lot of effort.

But, first I need to play this bass for a bit - to see if I like playing this bass as much as the bass guitar I borrowed.

I have purchased this bass guitar. I'll probably have it in my hands in a week or so. Fingers crossed nothing goes wrong with shipping and whatnot.

After playing this bass - I would never paint it.
