Trying to get a live-gig sound & tone I like. Using same late ‘59 P-Bass I’ve played for 30+ years. I’ve used half-rounds...but switched to flat-wounds couple years ago. Playing thru Genz-Benz 1x10 w/ 3.0 Shuttle (for stage monitor) w/ XRL direct to newish mixer/board. Sounds good at practice w/ this new (for me) 5-piece (2 acoustic guitars & mandolin~all plugged in) w/ tasty small-kit drummer. Live, the bass signal sound a bit dark & muddy. Should I mostly EQ at board? Thoughts on good starting EQ at Genz-Benz? Thanks...hoping to sound good, rich & some punch. Brian

I'd ditch your Genz-Benz rig in favor of a Fender Rumble 200 1x15 combo. Fab tone and hard gut punch for days.
