I am trying to locate a particular pick guard for P Bass.

I have tried Angela instruments and they cannot tell me if they will ever have them in stock even though they advertise it on their web site

This pick guard has 'NO' large notch for the truss rod.

There are no screw holes for a thumb rest under the G string.

Can anyone advise me where I can get one?

Apprently it is a "standard P Bass pick guard" usually found on Mexican P basses. Fender don't seem to offer it as a spare part in my country.

http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/ if you're in Asia then search it on the web. Didn't take long to do a google search for me to find Europe/UK.

Hey, you joined on my Birthday! :D

http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/bpickguard_pregenuine.htm

The ones that start with an item number of 099-13XXXXX-XXXX are the guards you're looking for. The Black Anodized one is very, very cool.

Good Luck.

FWIW, he's NOT looking for a 70's guard. A "Standard" 70's P guard from WD would require ALOT of drilling, and have holes drilled for the pup cover and bass side thumbrest. He wants the regular Fender replacement.

To the OP, if Fender doesn't offer the colors you want, AllParts does have more to choose from. They are usually very nicely done.

Too long, my good man. Yeah, WD would do it custom, and they are a great company. Tony at Pickguardian, from what I've heard and seen from the gang over at the FDP would be my choice for a truly custom job though. Some of the stuff I've seen that he's done is absolutely out of this world.
