Hy all,
just got my new P Bass Nate Mendel
I note that if the volume is at max the tone will change
if the volume is even at 3/4 the tone does not change
I do not feel any difference ...
all this being normal?

Thanks for the answers.

Andrea.

How much of a change, and what kind? As in more treble? Or less? Big Change (a lot)? Or Small (a little)?

I have a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder (same as your bass) in my '76 Precision and don't notice any change in tone when adjusting the volume up or down. Having the volume wide open does make it easier to hear the treble. I keep mine tone control backed way down because of that. Having the tone control wide open just makes the finger or pick noise more promininant right along with string & fret noise.

Hi linnin,
when the volume is at max the tone knob seems to work properly ...
when the volume is 3/4 from the max it appears that the tone knob does not produce any variation

but ... I found this
I attach the photo of the wiring of my Nate Mendel P bass...

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kvUxB ... uRA6SDzSkC

wiring does not match the pattern found on the fender support site

https://drive.google.com/open?id=1TRXDs ... -wJ9d_Rph7

the white thread that arrive from the pickup will not be soldered in the right place
now I try to modify the wiring as a schematic downloaded from the fender site

do you believe that I do what is right?

Andrea.

Yes Andrea, I believe you are correct. Go ahead and make the change. See what happens.

Hi,
I have redone the wiring
now be the same as the scheme taken from the fender site
now turning the tone knob when the volume be 3/4 from max or half
I feel the tone change
Now the tone operation is correct

Thanks for the support linnin.

Andrea.

You did all the research and work, Andrea. I didn't do anything. You can be proud of yourself, as you have done exceedingly well.

Yes ... but before doing the job I wanted an opinion of an expert person ...
I'm just a self-taught beginner...

thanks again and greetings from Italy
Andrea.
