I always stated, that if I found another Spl. Edition Deluxe PJ Precision / Sea Foam Pearl, I'd get it. I found one. ImageImage

Well, I have to say I didn't expect that one. :P What's the story with this one? Cool bass, by the way. 8)

It is a cool bass. I did want to get a long scale PJ in place of the Mustang PJ, soooo,........... here it tiz.
I always wanted to replace the one I had before, and this one was new, not screwed around with. On a nice $200.00 sale price. The Fender Standard I was going to get didn't stack up to this Precision, with a Jazz Neck. The Sea Foam Pearl is a finish I don't always find on basses I prefer too. To me, the MIM basses are getting more of the Signature, Spl. basses. And doing an exceptional job at it. In a way like Epiphone / Gibson. Image

I just really went in to look around in GC for their amp heads. And then I saw the PJ way up top with all of the factory tape still on, and the PG protective film still on. i had already decided to hang on to the V-4B. I gave it the real eye-ball on it, and it was pristine, and on sale. SOLD! ImageImageImage

You know, that's how I've often found gear. I call it "Zen shopping." :P You're not really planning on any one thing in particular, or thinking about it, but you just happen to find it, like it was waiting for you, and often a good deal to go with it. 8)

In this instance, I was set up for it big time. I even had part of the cash I had allotted for the SB on me. Getting the PJ, was a better acquisition for me than the Standards I was contemplating anyway.

I'd say so. That bass certainly does seem a lot nicer than the Standard models, not to knock those.

That's the way I look at it too. Fender gave me the product number on it, and told me it was created on Sept. of 2017. I just finished playing it, and didn't want to stop. The Ampeg brings out the Precision sounds. The settings are just a bit more of the Precision over the Jazz. Not much though, pretty even. This PJ is going to be a beast not to play. The Ampeg is doing it's thing!

Ampeg and Precisions go together like peanut butter and jelly. That's a classic combo, there. 8)

Maybe a little bit of Karma going on here. Keeping the V-4B did somewhat make things work out for the best.

Yeah, sometimes it's best to wait and see how something will work out, especially when bringing in new components, like another bass, or cab.

Paul, your absolutely right. I didn't wait long enough after changing out the 212 for the 115, with the V-4B. The V-4B is a better amp than I gave it credit for.
